Reid runs the farm full time and Nikki helps out from time to time when not leading volunteer groups in Acadia National Park. Growing up on opposite sides of the country(Reid in Georgia and Nikki in Oregon), we both developed a love for the outdoors and a passion for better land stewardship. We met when we were briefly in the Peace Corps in Panama. The pandemic sent us home before training was half way over, where we then separately worked on farms. We linked together and moved to Maine, where Reid worked on various farms before deciding to take the leap to starting our own farm.
We love our community here in Maine. We rented land on Mt. Desert Island for our inaugural season in 2024 before purchasing land in Blue Hill going into the 2025 growing season. Find us at the Farmer's Market. We'd love to be your friend.
Our long-term vision for the farm includes honing in on our favorite crops and scaling up certain crops for wholesale outlets alongside our variety for farmer's markets. We are opening up permanent annual beds while we scope out the best places for perennials for pollinators and fruit.
We aim to open Silly Goose preschool in 2026 or perhaps 2027, a preschool allowing kids to play in their garden, explore our woodland, and spend everyday outside.
